The organization of the Breast Imaging course is being held in along with Dr. Stamatia Destounis (RSNA coordinator). “The work was very efficient and started at RSNA 2019, in a face-to-face meeting, where we defined the initial parameters that guided the course program,” explain the Brazilian coordinators, Drs. José Michel Kalaf, Luciano Fernandes Chala, Maria Helena Siqueira Mendonça and Selma di Pace Bauab.
The main goal of the course is to provide the radiologist with detailed lectures on important topics to current and future clinical practice. The module will feature radiologists, plastic and breast surgeons and pathologists among the speakers. To reach the goal, there will be sessions addressing news about breast cancer screening and treatment, breast implants, in situ radiographic, radiomic and ductal carcinoma, gray areas on breast imaging, Artificial Intelligence, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, tomosynthesis, high risk lesions, children and adolescents, breast biopsy and questions about the BI-RADS use.
“We would like to highlight the participation of Drs. Stamatia Destounis and Carol Lee. Both are world references in breast imaging and excellent speakers. They will cover very relevant topics for radiologists, such as Artificial Intelligence in Breast Imaging: Potential Clinical Uses and the Role of Radiologists, High Risk Woman Screening, Abbreviated Breast Magnetic Resonance: Pros and Cons, and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis in Screening and Diagnosis, among others. In addition, we will have the participation of Dr. Anthony Stavros in the course of breast ultrasound with the lecture Breast Ultrasound: Examination Technique, Equipment and New Technologies and 37 Brazilian speakers,” they conclude.
